IT Forum Schwechat as Austria's ICT Lobby – First Meeting at Rothmuehle Castle in Schwechat

Within Rothmuehle Castle's historical environment the first official meeting of IT Forum Schwechat took place on 22 February 2006.

 

IT Forum Schwechat

The forum – consisting of 15 members – is an initiative of Schwechat's Information Society programme eSchwechat.at. IT Forum Schwechat acts as a think tank and lobby for the ICT location Austria. It is organised by ITBeurope, Innovation Consultancy and defrag your mind innovationsmanagement & marketing.

Members of the forum are well-known CEOs of Austrian ICT firms and multinational companies located in Austria, of Austrian Business Agency (ABA), professors of two universities, Austrian Research Centers, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Institute of Telecommunication as well as the organisers ITBeurope, Innovation Consultancy and defrag your mind.

 

Vienna as a location for regional ICT headquarters

After the official event opening by Hannes Fazekas, mayor of Schwechat and Helmut Paugger, managing director of Innovation Consultancy and programme manager of eSchwechat.at, Andreas Zach presented his study "Vienna as a Lcation for Regional ICT Headquarters". Within the study the important criterias in evaluating the location Vienna are analysed.

Afterwards Helmut Paugger presented "eSchwechat.at – Schwechats Information Society Programme for Building the Future".

eSchwechat.at is a five years (2005 – 2009) programme of the Municipality of Schwechat to establish a municipal information society as well as an international known centre of excellence in eHealthcare/eHomecare.

 

Enlargement of ICT location Austria

The following discussion moderated by Guenther Krumpak, president of ITBeurope served the concretion of the forum's goal: The enlargement of the ICT location Austria, stronger international positioning as well as increasing the awareness inside the country. Therefore the eSchwechat.at initiative shall be used as a best practice and demonstration model.
